A Full-Service Hand Facility

The New York Downtown Hand Center at New York-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital is dedicated to the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of patients with upper extremity problems. The Hand Center at New York-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital, located on the eighth floor, is a full service facility designed to optimize the examination and treatment of hand and upper extremity patients.

The Hand Center is staffed at all times by Dr. Nelson Botwinick and Dr. Robert Pae, both board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic hand surgeons with many years of experience. When a patient is referred to and seen at the Center, these hand specialists will always see them, even if that patient is referred on an emergent or same day basis.

At the Hand Center, the physicians and staff are all experts in the treatment of complex hand, wrist and elbow disorders. These include traumatic injuries (fractures and lacerations), tendon and nerve injuries and sports related injuries, as well as work and motor vehicle accidents. The Hand Center also treats all chronic conditions of the hand and wrist including arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and Dupuytren’s disease.

The Hand Center’s orthopaedic surgeons have treated many professional athletes and musicians. They have served the Wall Street and Downtown community as well as referrals from the entire New York Metropolitan area for many years.

The New York Downtown Hand Center treats patients of all ages, and most insurance plans are accepted.

New York-Presbyterian/Lower Manhattan Hospital is an academic affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College and a member of the New York Presbyterian Healthcare System.
